19岁的幼儿园老师小笠原涉木（药师丸博子饰）爱慕上学生的父亲御前崎渡（财津和夫饰），夏日时分，涉木受御前崎邀请前往大阪辅导其孩子的功课。即将出发之时，涉木在海边巧遇四处旅行修炼、立志成为伟大魔术师的青年大东道健（野村宏伸饰）。他们的旅行各有得失，涉木遭到御前崎妻子的嫉妒，无奈离开大阪，回到故乡冲绳；大东岛则迷上爵士女歌手伊势（桃井薰饰），而伊势却和御前崎相恋，始终拒绝大东岛的追求。在这个炎热的夏天，四个人各自寻找着感情的归宿……。White Lies is described as an “urgent exploration of race and privilege, inequality and identity.” Set in the wealthy neighbourhood of Bishopscourt, Cape Town, the series is described as following investigative journalist Edie Hansen (Dormer) as she gets caught up in the ugly underbelly that lies beneath the picturesque beauty of the city, dragging her back to a turbulent past....。
