故事背景为一九一七年左右，当时正为军阀割据，国民革命军北伐的前夕。 故事开始为革命军官曾泰少梭，奉命谋夺军阀金大帅辖下的第三团军火库。 曾泰与助手两名，来到封锁线，被对方侍卫发现，助手被枪杀，曾泰逃难至乡村。 流氓孟强，终日无所事事，在乡镇中穿插，偷人财物。这天，他见两名军官与酒保争论，他看准机会，偷取一军人钱包。他的行动全被曾泰看见了。 曾泰觉得孟强有利用价值，于是与孟强及其好友铁马骝、红辣椒答应合作，劫走军火，所得利润平分，于是孟强意外地介入了关乎国家兴亡的事业中，产生出一段轰轰烈烈的英雄故事。。When he learns his days are numbered old count Hervé de Kéraudren decides to hide in a secret alcove and to die there, just to annoy his heirs. As a result of his body not being found the latter will have to wait for five years until they can inherit the count's money. Very upsetting indeed, all the more as they are required to keep up the Kéraudren estate in the meantime. To collect money, nephews and nieces organize a Son et Lumière show at the manor while busily looking for the missing corpse. But, unexpectedly, they get killed in turns. Murders or accidents?
