户部郎中齐学仁为官刚正不阿、一直不肯同流合污，幕后黑手连同他的上司户部侍郎柴毅一起栽赃嫁祸，令到银库里巨额白银不已而非，齐家一家被收监问斩。幸好义仆舍身从监房里换出了学仁的儿子齐百川（陈豪 饰），齐家才保留了一点血脉。目睹了家人和义仆被当众抄斩，百川悲愤不已。随后他流落街头、万念俱灰，一次偶然机会被当地最大的票号鼎丰盛东主乔本业（姜大卫 饰）看中，招入了鼎丰盛当学徒。进入鼎丰盛让百川看到了一个彻查全家被斩的冤案的机会，他化名子齐，一方面努力学习票号业务，一方面努力往上爬，为的就是有朝一日能借助鼎丰盛为全家翻案。另一方面，票号的大掌柜曹裕泰（刘丹 饰）一直想当上鼎丰盛的东主，连合鼎丰盛全国各分号的老帮逼宫，后被乔本业化解危机，不甘心的曹裕泰离开了鼎丰盛另立炉灶对抗鼎丰盛。乔本业一次偶然救了来自塞外的巴巴哈儿高娃（郭羡妮 饰）姐弟，两人随后也留在了鼎丰盛工作。子齐与高娃在朝夕相处中互生爱慕，但身负复仇使命的子齐知道自己可能会连累高娃，于是选择了独自承担……。Monk and his friends arrive in New York to locate the man whom they were told has information about Trudy's murder.
