民国初年，军阀混战时期，陕北说书艺人兰老五在兵荒马乱之际捡到一襁褓中的女婴，从此悉心照料并抚养其长大，兰根根、冯三虎、张忠汉几位儿时的伙伴更是倾情呵护。兰花花心地善良，能歌善舞，且出落得貌若天仙，闻名遐迩，并与冯三虎渐生情愫，终身相许。三十里铺的大财主周若怀对兰花花早已垂涎三尺，虽四房妻妾却仅有一弱智多病的儿子，于是千方百计将兰花花娶为儿媳，指望其传宗接代……。This would definitely not have been my kind of movie, but my husband saw it on TV and said it was really good. So, on his recommendation, I bought a copy, since I didn't know if it would ever be on TV again. I had never heard of anybody in it except Armand Assante. At first I had a hard time getting into the story, because the first part of the movie is a jumble of images-- and...。
