在那山的那边海的那边有一群蓝精灵，他们活泼又聪明，他们调皮又伶俐。片中，蓝色矮人精灵家族和红色矮人精灵家族各自盘踞一个花园，一篱笆之隔的他们既是邻居，又是生死冤家。经常是在屋主离开之后，他们就开始打个你死我活。来自蓝色家族的吉诺密欧在不知情的情况下，爱上了红色家族老大的女儿朱丽叶，从此，爱情就像一瞬间的电光火石改变了两人的生活，彼此相爱让他们开始对两家的世仇开始质疑。高高的篱笆和无休止的战争是否会成为阻碍这对年轻人的藩篱？真爱能否化解长久以来的争夺和斗争呢？。Framing StoryDr Martin (Robert Powell) arrives at a secluded asylum "for the incurably insane" to be interviewed for a job by the wheelchair-using, authoritarian Dr Lionel Rutherford (Patrick Magee).
