Faced with intense emotional scars, as well as physical -- which are realized by the years of self-harm depicted by the cuttings adorning his body -- he enters the bathroom to begin a journey of self-exploration, self-mutilation and quite possibly...。七七事变前，邓颖超因患病化名李知凡太太住进北平西山疗养院，与病友清华女生胡杏芬结下深厚友谊。卢沟桥事变后，李太太与住院病友积极募捐，慰劳二十九军抗敌负伤将士。不久，杏芬等人远走陪都重庆，李太太则来到战时中的武汉，从事抢救难童等抗日救亡运动。两年后，杏芬与地下党负责人郝君在重庆见到日夜思念的李太太，方知她是周恩来的夫人邓大姐，崇拜之情油然而生。周恩来把杏芬安排在苏联驻华使馆工作，一度对现实丧失信心的杏芬重新鼓起了生活的勇气。郝君突然与他人结婚，杏芬脆弱的神经受到致命打击……。
