工藤和雄（东出昌大饰）和佐久间研二（大东俊介饰）是多年的好友，研二是一名在高中授课的老师，而和雄则是出版社的编辑。和雄的精神和身体似乎都出现了问题，经过精神科医生的诊断，他患上了自律神经失调症，而治疗这一病症并没有什么特效药，唯有坚持运动，方能够缓解症状。 于是，和雄和妻子纯子（奈绪饰）一起回到了老家函馆，并且开始了每天跑步复建的生活。然而很快和雄就发现，除了跑步的时候他是开心的，除此之外，生活中的每一件事情都令他感到灰心，包括他和妻子之间的关系。一天，和雄在跑步的时候遇见了名叫小泉彰的少年，两人不知怎么的，开始了一起跑步的日子。。Yoo-ra suffers from nightmares every night.
